Theo United Football Club, newly crowned champions of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) Gardnerville Subcommittee Third Division League, have set its sights on gaining promotion to the Second Division.

Club president Amose Weah expressed optimism following the team’s title win, declaring their intent to carry the same momentum into the Montserrado County Third Division playoff.

“We are going into the playoff with the same champions’ mentality,” Weah said. “I believe we can perform well, considering our track record as champions in both the fourth and now the third division.”

Theo United, who earned promotion from the fourth division last season, made an impressive debut in the third division, winning the league with 28 points from 14 matches. They finished ahead of strong contenders United New Georgia (26 points) and Pepper FC (24 points).

Despite losing twice to Pepper FC—3-1 in the first round and 2-0 on the final matchday—Theo United had already sealed the championship before the last game, rendering the result insignificant to the standings.

Weah attributed their success to early and focused preparation, noting that the team began training two months before the season started. He vowed to maintain the same discipline ahead of the county playoff.

“To our fans, I urge you to keep supporting us,” he said. “We will do everything possible to reach the second division. We are not done yet.”

Meanwhile, Gardnerville Subcommittee Chairman Borris Weah congratulated Theo United and all participating teams. He encouraged the champions to stay focused as they prepare to represent the subcommittee in the upcoming playoff.

At the official crowning ceremony, several players received individual honors:

Best Coach: Myers Saytue (United New Georgia)

Best Goalkeeper: Sando Barry (Theo United)

Most Valuable Player: Zara Mitchell (Theo United)

Best Defender: Derry Doe (Theo United)

Highest Goalscorer: Christian Morlu (GAC) – 15 goals
