Africa-Press – Liberia. In a dramatic political shift, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Thomas P. Fallah, has officially joined the ruling Unity Party (UP), pledging full support for President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. and affirming that Liberia’s governance system is “on the right path.”

The declaration marks a significant move by Fallah, a former stalwart of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) who for years served as one of the party’s most influential figures. His crossover to the Unity Party signals a growing consolidation of support for the Boakai-led government and a potential reshaping of the country’s political landscape in 2029.

Speaking on Saturday, December 5, at the party’s official fundraising rally in Congo Town where he was inducted into the Unity Party as a full-fledged member, Deputy Speaker Fallah explained that his decision reflects a deeper commitment to national interest rather than political loyalty. He described the Boakai administration as one that is demonstrating strong governance, accountability, and a clear sense of direction for the country.

“The governing system of our country is on the right path,” Fallah said confidently. “We have come here today to demonstrate our love for our country over self. We believe in President Boakai and his team. They are doing exceptionally well.”

Fallah’s crossover to the Unity Party comes at a time when several political leaders, influencers, and community actors are aligning themselves with the Boakai-led government. At the ceremony, groups of citizens and local leaders also declared their membership, expressing confidence in the administration’s dedication to good governance.

The Deputy Speaker, once considered one of the CDC’s most loyal and vocal defenders, acknowledged that political parties come and go—but Liberia must remain the ultimate priority.

“There was a country called Liberia before political parties. Before our Constitution. Before all of us here today. Liberia stands above any party,” he told the gathering.

In a message directed to the UP-Executive Committee, Fallah stressed the importance of embracing new members and giving them meaningful recognition and inclusion. He said every leader who joins the party brings significant influence, particularly those elected by their communities.

“Each of these people goes with nothing less than 7,000 to 10,000 supporters,” he emphasized. “If they are well taken care of, you will automatically have their constituencies with you.”

He noted that his presence and that of his colleagues signals the beginning of a broader wave of political support shifting toward the Unity Party.

In one of the most striking moments of his speech, Fallah boldly declared:

The statement was received with excitement from the crowd, signaling his willingness to mobilize political strength in one of the country’s most influential vote-rich regions.

Fallah praised the administration’s efforts in stabilizing governance, fighting corruption, and initiating reforms that are restoring hope among Liberians. He said the effectiveness of the Boakai-Koung leadership is the central reason behind his crossover.

“Because our country is on the right path under this leadership, that’s why my colleagues and I are here today,” he said. “We pledge our support to you, Mr. President, and to the Unity Party. We believe in you.”

He wrapped up his remarks by assuring the President, Vice President, and partisans that this is only the beginning of a growing movement that will solidify the UP’s national presence.

“Today is just the beginning. More good things are coming,” Fallah said.

With this declaration, Deputy Speaker Thomas P. Fallah begins a new chapter in his political journey—one anchored in his belief that Liberia’s current governance structure is progressing in the right direction. His endorsement is widely seen as a major boost for the Unity Party, especially as it strengthens alliances ahead of future political contests.

As he rallies supporters and political actors behind the Boakai administration, Fallah’s move signals a significant realignment within Liberia’s political landscape, one that could shape the nation’s direction in the months and years ahead.
