Africa-Press – Liberia. The United Bank for Africa (UBA) celebrated its 75th anniversary with a distinguished cocktail reception in New York, attended by global leaders, including Liberia’s President, Joseph Nyuma Boakai.

The event, held alongside the 2024 United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), brought together key figures from the worlds of finance, governance, and philanthropy, reaffirming UBA’s central role in Africa’s economic transformation.

The evening was hosted by Tony Elumelu, UBA’s Group Chairman and visionary philanthropist, whose leadership has propelled the bank to unprecedented heights. As the chief host, Elumelu highlighted UBA’s ongoing mission to empower Africa through financial inclusion and innovation.

President Joseph Nyuma Boakai was a special guest of honor, representing Liberia’s commitment to forging stronger ties with key financial institutions like UBA.
