Africa-Press – Liberia. In a fiercely contested race in electoral district 5, Grand Bassa County, where dozens of candidates contested for representative seat, Unity Party candidate Juah Setro Dennis, is confident of victory.

In an interview on Thursday, October 12, Candidate Setro expressed conviction that she is the clear frontrunner in the district with over 500 votes.

According to latest tally sheets collected from various voting precincts within Grand Bassa District#5, Candidate Setro is in a comfortable lead and is very optimistic about her chances.

She attributes her substantial lead to the resonance of her campaign promises to enhance education, healthcare, and economic opportunities, among others within the district.

“As the ballots were counted and results started pouring in, it became evident that my message resonated strongly with the residents of the District. The enthusiasm surrounding my campaign translated into a significant lead with a total of more than 500 votes over my closest rival,” she said.

According to her, tally sheet indicates that Ben D.S Bannie, a candidate of the CDC, currently holds second place, with the incumbent lawmaker, Thomas Gosuah, trading in third place

“I believe in the people of District# 5, and I am confident that our vision for a better future will prevail. We have worked hard, and the response from the polling places has been overwhelmingly positive.”

All eyes are now on the National Elections Commission (NEC) to announce outcome of Tuesday’s election in Grand Bassa and the rest of Liberia.
