Winners Incorporated Contributes LRD5 Million to County Meet

Africa-Press – Liberia. Monrovia- Winners Incorporated Betting company, has contributed five million Liberian dollars( LRD 5,000,000) to the National County Sports Meet (NCSM) for the champions and individuals awards.

Accordingly, the cash prize of four million, eight hundred thousand Liberian Dollar (L$4,800,000) to the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MYS) for the champions and individuals awards in the NCSM and additional two hundred thousand Liberian Dollars (L$200,000) as operational cost to the MYS for the tournament.

Winners Inc has contributed in the past to promoting sports in Liberia, initially with two million Liberian Dollars (L$2,000,000) during the last edition of the NCSM. Accordingly, the company said they remain committed to promoting sports across the country.

In a statement issued, the betting giants committed to awarding the champions in the football category of this year County sports meet with the amount of (L$ 2,000,000) two million Liberian dollars, runners-up earning (L$1,000,000) one million Liberian dollars while third-place to pocket (L$ 500,000) five hundred thousand Liberia dollars.

Winners Inc., also said they will award the Most Valuable Players in the tournament with L$ 250, 000, highest scorer with L$200, 000, Fair Play Team would earn L$100, 000, Best Defender receiving L$100,000, Best Goalkeeper earning L$100, 000 while Best Coach is set to pocket L$100, 000.

In addition the company noted that Kickball champions will be congratulated with L$ 300,000, runners-up earning L$ 100,000 and third-place would walk away with L$ 50,000.

In a brief statement, Winners Inc. President, Yacob Batshon expressed his company sincere willingness to collaborate with the new administration of President Boakai in advancing his sports agenda in in Liberia.

Said Batshon, “Together, we can work towards fostering a culture of unity, sportsmanship and national pride through initiatives that promote active participation and talent development across all levels in our society”.

He emphasized, “Winners Inc have been a great partner to sports in Liberia and intend to do much in that regards during the coming years.”

Speaking to FrontPageAfrica via mobile phone, Deputy Minister for Sports, G. Andy Quamie, thanked the management of Winners Inc. for the massive contributions toward the Champions and Individuals’ awards of the NCSM.

Minister Quamie affirmed that the company provided Two million (L$ 2,000,000) in the last edition of which One million (L$1,000,000) was given to Nimba county, champion of the football category.

Minister Quamie, however, called on other companies across the country to emulate Winners Inc contributions to the tournament.
