In a heartfelt and passionate statement at a recent appreciation ceremony, the managing director of the LISCR Trust Company, Mr. Abraham Avi Zaidenberg, pledged his continued and unwavering support to the development of football in Liberia. Zaidenberg, a key figure in the Liberian football ecosystem since 1999, reaffirmed his long-standing commitment to the sport and praised President Joseph Nyuma Boakai for his administration’s renewed dedication, especially towards women’s football.

The ceremony, which was graced by a high-level delegation from the Liberia Football Association (LFA) led by its Third Vice President, Jodie-Marian Reid Seton, was organized to honor LISCR Trust Company for its significant contributions to football development, particularly women’s football. LISCR Trust Company currently serves as the official sponsor of the Women’s Football League in Liberia.

During his remarks, Zaidenberg lauded President Boakai for the historic move to fully fund the senior women’s national team, a milestone not achieved since 2018. “I would like to say thank you to our President, Honorable Joseph Boakai,” he stated. “I know exactly because I speak with him occasionally—how connected he is to sports, to the national team, and to football in particular. His commitment to women’s football in Liberia is deeply felt and appreciated.”

Zaidenberg used the occasion to reflect on his nearly three-decade-long involvement in Liberian football. Under his leadership, LISCR Trust Company has not only maintained one of the country’s most successful football clubs, LISCR FC, but also consistently supported national sporting activities such as the National County Sports Meet and the Intra-Governmental League.

“It is with immense gratitude and pride that I accept this honor on behalf of LISCR Trust Company,” Zaidenberg said. “Supporting the Liberia Football Association and in particular, the Women’s Football League has been more than a sponsorship for us. It has been a commitment to growth, talent, empowerment, and opportunity.”

He described football as a unifying force and emphasized the importance of continuing to provide platforms for young women to showcase their skills and pursue their passion. “We see this as both a responsibility and a privilege,” he added. “This recognition is not just for LISCR, but for every player, coach, and supporter who contributes to the vibrancy and success of women’s football in Liberia. You are the heartbeat of this journey.”

Zaidenberg also recalled the many challenges and victories experienced over the years, referencing LISCR’s involvement during tough times when support was desperately needed. “If it is the County Meet, the national team, the LFA, or the National League and its subdivisions—we have been there. We stayed connected even through the difficult years, and our commitment remains as long as I live.”

The LFA delegation used the occasion to officially thank Zaidenberg and LISCR Trust Company for their enduring support, which has been vital to sustaining and growing football in Liberia, especially at the grassroots and women’s levels.

The LISCR FC chairman closed his remarks with a hopeful call for continued progress: “Let us continue to push the boundaries of what is possible both on and off the field. For the advancement of Liberia, I encourage all of us to strive even harder to elevate the Liberian flag and make it shine brightly among the nations. May God bless us all.”

Zaidenberg’s legacy in Liberian football stands tall, and his recent pledge reaffirms LISCR’s central role in helping to shape the future of the game across the country.
