Africa-Press – Liberia. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) is weighing an investment of several billion dollars into a state-of-the-art chip manufacturing facility in Arizona, the United States, as well as building a cutting-edge European facility, according to Reuters.
TSMC is the largest chip manufacturer in the world, and observers are carefully watching its expansion plans during the shortfall in chips.In 2020, TSMC announced that it would invest $10-12 billion to manufacture chips in Arizona.
Currently, officials of TSMC are deliberating over whether the new facility should be more cutting edge for producing 3-nm or 5-nm chips.
