Africa-Press – Malawi. Chief Resident Magistrate Madalitso Chimwaza on Friday, July 15, 2022 was granted bail to Former Minister of Homeland security Nicholas Dausi. The country’s Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) therefore has charged Dausi with two Counts; abuse of public office and neglect of official duty.
He was arrested on allegations that he abused his office by arbitrarily approving an exorbitant and unbudgeted for procurement contract between Malawi Government and private company for the supply of Uniforms and Equipment for Malawi Prison Services which was initiated by Ministry of Homeland Security headquarters in Lilongwe against public procurement procedures.
