Africa-Press – Malawi. President Lazarus Chakwera’s Tonse Alliance announces reviving Muammar Gaddafi Hospital in Blantyre as one way of curbing challenges in access to quality health services.
Health Minister Khumbize Kandodo told the August house in Lilongwe on Monday that government is aware of congestion which is currently happening at Queen Elizabeth hospital in Blantyre. Kandodo said Gaddafi hospital project will help alot of people from Blantyre and the surrounding areas.
The minister made the remarks after Machinga East lawmaker Ester Jolobala asked government if there was plan to revive the construction of hospital as it was abandoned by previous regimes.

Bakili Muluzi laid foundation stone in 2002 at Kameza round about for Gaddafi hospital in respect of former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi who visited this country in his regime and currently the premises only have long fence and some structures in side.
