Africa-Press – Malawi. History is made! Malawi’s Scorchers are the winners of the 2023 COSAFA Hollywood Bets Women’s Championship after beating Zambia by two goals to one at Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria, South Africa for the first time in history.
Schorcher’s first goal came from Asimenye Simwaka with the second one by Sabina Thom in the dying time of the game while Zambia’s Copper Queens scored through a penalty by Agness Phiri.
Malawi’s Scorchers coach Lovemore Fazili was over the moon by taking the girls to victory. The Scorchers never won all games played in the tournament that started two years ago.
