Africa-Press – Malawi. Mighty Wanderers have done it again! The Nomads completed a season double over their bitter rivals, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, with a convincing 3–0 victory in the TNM Super League on Sunday at Kamuzu Stadium.
Having edged Bullets 1–0 in the first round, thanks to a Blessings Mwalilino strike, Wanderers went into the second-round clash determined to prove it was no fluke—and they did so in style.
From the first whistle, Wanderers dominated proceedings, controlling the midfield and leaving Bullets struggling to find rhythm. Their tight midfield unit, marshalled by veteran Muhammad Sulumba and the energetic Blessings Mwalilino, created multiple chances that kept the Bullets defence under constant pressure.
The breakthrough came in the 22nd minute when youthful substitute Adam Wallace, who had replaced the injured Wisdom Mpinganjira, calmly tapped in a low cross from the right flank delivered by experienced winger Isaac Kaliati.
In the second half, Wanderers turned up the tempo. Super-sub Blessings Singini sent the blue half of Blantyre into wild celebration in the 76th minute, firing a long-range thunderbolt that left Bullets goalkeeper Innocent Nyasulu helpless.
Seven minutes later, Singini struck again—slotting home his second and sealing the deal for the Nomads in the 83rd minute to make it 3–0.
Wanderers Head Coach Bob Mpinganjira hailed his players for a disciplined and clinical performance.
“The boys kept possession and created chances. The league is still on—we just need to keep working hard to achieve our dream of becoming champions,” he said.
Bullets Coach Peter Mponda admitted his side were second best on the day.
“Wanderers deserved to win. We have a lot to work on, but we will definitely bounce back,” he said.
Felix Zulu, the Wanderers captain, was named Player of the Match for his outstanding leadership and commanding display in midfield.
Despite the loss, Bullets remain top of the log with 49 points from 21 games, while Wanderers stay unbeaten in second place with 48 points from 20 games, setting up a tense title race.
The two Blantyre giants will renew their rivalry next Saturday, November 1, in the FDH Bank Cup semifinals—a clash that promises more fireworks.
