Africa-Press – Malawi. Mighty Wanderers have been crowned 2025 TNM Super League champions after a dramatic 2-2 draw against Kamuzu Barracks at Bingu National Stadium, ending an eight-year title drought.
Already assured of the championship before kickoff, the Nomads showed resilience by coming from behind twice to secure a point that took them to 69 points, three clear of rivals FCB Nyasa Big Bullets.
Wanderers last lifted the league title in 2017.Kamuzu Barracks stunned the champions-elect when John Banda headed the visitors into the lead in the 36th minute.
Wanderers responded after the break through substitute Blessings Mwalilino, who converted a rebound in the 56th minute to restore parity.
The soldiers regained the advantage in the 77th minute when Zeliat Nkhoma finished off a flowing move, putting pressure on the hosts deep into stoppage time.
However, Wanderers had the final say as Muhammad Sulumba rose to connect Wallace Adam’s cross in the sixth minute of added time, salvaging a draw and sparking celebrations among the home supporters.
Elsewhere, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets kept up the chase with a convincing 4-0 victory over Mzuzu City Hammers at Kamuzu Stadium, courtesy of braces from Babatunde Adepoju and Chikumbutso Salima.
Despite the win, the People’s Team settled for second place.Silver Strikers finished third after being held to a 1-1 draw by Blue Eagles.
In other results on the final day, Ekhaya FC beat Mighty Tigers 2-0, Civo Service United thrashed Songwe United 5-0, Karonga United edged Chitipa United 1-0, Creck Sporting defeated MAFCO 1-0, while Moyale FC and Dedza Dynamos played out a goalless draw.
