Africa-Press – Malawi. Ten contestants have made it to Malawi Has Talent season one grand finale to be held at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe on August 26 2023. The names of the 10 contestants were unveiled Sunday following their success in the national elimination show held at the same venue recently.

The national elimination show for Malawi Has Talent, which is spearheaded by Times Group in partnership with First Capital Bank, drew 30 acts, who made it through during auditions before selecting the top 10.

The top 10 finalists have been drawn four singers namely Vanessa Nalikungwi, Chisomo Banda, Kesia Saiwa and Temwa Kaunda whereas the others are contortionist Felicity Thunyani, percussionist Samuel Phiri, poets Beatus Msamange and Jonathan White as well as Destination Talents (acting) and the Invisible Crew (dance).

Chairperson for Malawi Has Talent organising team Wonder Msiska, who is also Times Television Station Manager, said people should brace for a thrilling grand finale on August 26.

“People should expect fireworks as Malawi will choose the first winner of Malawi Has Talent for season one. So far so good, we invite Malawians to come to the show and also watch on television and our other platforms to be part of history,” Msiska said.

FCB Head of Marketing and Communication Twikale Chirwa said Sunday that Malawi should expect to identify top talent in season one but also be treated to a thrilling grand finale which will combine music and the arts in general.

“This should encourage talent out there to come out and contest in season 2,” Chirwa said.

The grand finale will see the winner walking away with K5 million whereas second and third placed contestants will receive K2 million and K1 million, respectively.
