Africa-Press – Malawi. Chawanangwa Kaonga and Patrick Phiri scored at 6th and 22nd minute of the first half respectively to end the Capital City derby in stalemate at the Silver Stadium on Sunday, April 3,2022 in TNM Super League.
The result of the first week in a Blantyre Derby in which Bullets defeated Mighty Wanderers at Kamuzu Stadium in first week of the 2022 TNM Super League differed with that from Lilongwe Derby as they shared spoils contrary to what the supporters of the two teams Silver and Civil Service United from Chilinde,Matchasi,Mchesi,Kawale,Mgona and Senti anticipated.
The servants bearing in mind that they managed to collect four points out of six last season looked determined and focused as they displayed exciting game than the host, the Central Bankers.
Despite Civo’s energy and efforts Chawanangwa Kaonga scored first at 6th minute with an assist from Stain Davie but Patrick Phiri was too quick to reply at 22nd minute, Damiano Kunje being the architect.

Furthermore bankers made more changes to ignite the power to match the Servants,they brought in Patrick Macheso,Chikondi Kamanga for Uchizi Bvunga and Taonga Chimodzi,while Stain Davie, Zebron Kalima paved ways for Frank Banda and Maxwell Phodo.
His counterpart, Franco Ndawa, just made three changes Chasimbiye Kanyika,Patrick Phiri, the scorer and Luke Chima were replaced by William Mwalwimba,Binwell Katinji and Juma Yatina.Second half didn’t not produce any goals despite teams making some efforts.
After the game Franco Ndawa, the Servants coach, thanked heaven for God’s grace that they equalized after conceding as early as sixth minute. Ndawa added getting a point on a derby was very vital and will be looking forward to keep the good form in the next fixtures.
While Daniel Kabwe, Silver Strikers mentor, said Civo did not give them space to move freely at the same time his boys lacked composure that was why they missed a lot of scoring chances.
“It is a marathon we will catch up.Its is just composure amongst the players what is needed,I can not take my heart and put in the players.
“For them (Civo) is a win to us it’s a loss as we were home. We have to work on conversion rate”,. The Zambia Kabwe was quoted.
At the Balaka Stadium Rookies Dedza came from a one goal down to win the match by two goals to one against the Soldiers from Chioko Kamuzu Barracks FC to continue shining.Charles Kamanga’s boys opened the score line at 6th minute through a spot kick after Dedza Dynamos defender Lughano Kaira handled the ball in the box,Horace Mchoma simply converted it.
Dynamos did not wait longer to level the matters through Henry Misinjo who converted a penalty which they got after Clement Nyondo was fouled as he was attacking Horace Mchoma at 35th minute. Charles Chipala slotted the second goal for the debutants at 40th minute in the first half.
The win for Dan Dzinkambani’s boys meant a lot as they moved second on the 16 team log table with 7 points from three games they have played. So far,they are yet to test a defeat in the elite league to the delight of the former Karonga United Coach.
At Mpira Stadium Waka-Waka Tigers played a nil nil draw with Mighty Wanderers. While at Mulanje Park Sable Farming FC also came from behind to false a one all draw against Ekwendeni Hammers.
So far 48 games have been played in three weeks of the 2022 TNM Super League season which 45 goals have been scored.Blue Eagles FC lead the table with 9 points from 3 games scoring four goals and they are yet to concede.
