Africa-PressMalawi. South African reggae musician Senzo Mthethwa is set to stay on in the country until next month following the addition of seven more shows, promoter Thomson Madulira said Tuesday.

Madulira, of Thom’s Park Investment, said the seven shows have been added by public demand. “A lot of people still want to watch Senzo and so we thought we should consider them, hence the additional seven shows,” he said.

The shows follow Senzo’s successful outings in the Central Region which included gigs at Chill Spot in Mchinji District and Glalle Gardens in Lilongwe.

This coming weekend, the veteran reggae musician, who used to be popular in the 1990s, performs at Kasungu Culture Club on Friday, Squirrels Park in Mzuzu on Saturday and then Planet in Karonga on Sunday.

Madulira said in all the shows they have held, Senzo, who is being backed by Alleluya Band, has received support. “So far I can say that things are okay and people have given us all the support. This has also given Senzo more energy and he is still determined to give out more,” he said.

The seven additional shows will see Senzo perform at Vibes in Zomba on July 2, Edga’s Lodge in Mulanje on July 3 before dating Blantyre once again at Pa Zinziri on July 4.

The other shows are at Simbeko Lodge in Nsanje on July 5, Arnold Lodge in Dwangwa on July 9, M1 Centre Point in Lilongwe on July 10 and Fresh Mind Complex in Mwanza on July 11.
