Africa-Press – Malawi. The embattled Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General Martha Chizuma is reportedly outside the country for the last two weeks to unknown destination.
Sources within ACB told this publication that Chizuma has been living in fear after the arrest in November last year. told to fire Chizuma at ACB “She has been outside the country for the last two weeks and where is, its not known to us.
“After the arrest, Chizuma has pretended to be strong but not. She is completely down,” alleges the source.
Added the source, “She might also go out of the country for a breather. Life is hard for her now considering the outcome of the report”. ACB spokesperson Egrita Ndala when contacted said is not aware of the development.
Ndala did not give more details of Chizuma’s whereabouts. Chizuma was last seen in public at Kasungu ground during commemoration of World Corruption Day.
This comes barely a week after commission of inquiry faulted her on the arrest. President Lazarus Chakwera is yet to act on the inquiry findings. Some Civil rights groups have already started pushing Chakwera to act on the report.
