Africa-Press – Malawi. Car dealers AYH Motors and Logistics have completed the takeover over Bangwe All Stars at K80 million.

The move is aimed at inspiring the side to return to the TNM Super League following their relegation after a two-year stay.

AYH Motors Managing Director Imran Master said he wanted to turn Bangwe into a force to be reckoned with.

“My love for football dates back to when we first helped Immigration FC. We are geared to revive Bangwe and make it great again. We have been in this country for some years and follow football greatly. Our desire for the game is massive,” Master said.

Meanwhile, Bangwe new Chief Executive Officer Shamim Osman, who is also daughter to Blantyre City Deputy Mayor Isaac Jomo Osman, has said people should not doubt her capabilities.

“I believe that, with the support of all stakeholders, we will make it. Allow me also to thank my father for trusting me with this huge responsibility and I feel humbled.

“Together with management of AYH Motors and Logistics, we are geared to take Bangwe All Stars to another level,” she said.

On his part, Osman hailed AYH Motors for bailing out Bangwe after reports indicated that the team had disbanded two months ago.

“I am calling on the government to consider a tax waiver on companies like AYH Motors as they are supporting football and investing more money in the sport. Had it not been for their support, the team could have disbanded,” Osman said.

He also recognised club president Mphatso Jika for lifting the side.

Apart from monetary support, AYH Motors gave all Bangwe players brand new pairs of shoes.

The team will be playing in the newly introduced NBS Bank National Division League
