Africa-Press – Malawi. BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-President Lazarus Chakwera has warned that he will reshuffle his cabinet in few days to come if some ministries continue not to deliver the desired results to the Malawians.
Chakwera issued the warning note in his national address held at Kamuzu palace in Lilongwe on Tuesday evening, October 25, 2022. The President said is not happy with cabinet ministers who are not doing anything to improve welfare of Malawians.
“I am not keeping anyone who is not delivering the best to Malawians in my cabinet.
“I will make changes in the cabinet soon so as to put the right people in those ministries that are failing to deliver the desired results, ” said Chakwera in his national address.
The Malawi leader went on to describe as false claims that the money paid to the UK company for Affordable Input Programme ( AIP) is MK30 billion as some have been saying.
He said the amount is MK750 million and was paid in two installments to separate accounts held in two countries and that currently efforts are being made to recover the money.
Chakwera therefore relieved Lobin Lowe of his duty as agriculture minister, replacing him with Sam Kawale over the aforementioned fertilizer procurement scandal.
