Africa-Press – Malawi. President Lazarus Chakwera has mourned the death of Malawi Revenue Authority Station Manager for Dedza Border Alinafe Bonongwe who brutally murdered at his residence at Deza Boma, saying his death is a heartbreaking and colossal loss to Malawi.

In a statement, President Chakwera says late Bonongwe was a warrior for justice most especially this time the nation is in fight against corruption. The Malawi leader says despite receiving the death threats for standing-up for lawless and corrupt cartels that have long been marauding Malawi’s boarders, Bonongwe remained resolute and fearless in his defense of the county’s treasures.

Chakwera says the late Bonongwe died a hero and his sacrifice for Malawi will not be in vain for it gives all Malawians fresh inspiration to press on with their quest for a new Malawi free of corruption.

He however, passed on a warning message to those who involved in the death of Bonongwe that the authorities will never relent in pursuing them until they are brought to Justice.

“As for those criminals who who have committed this crime, the authorities will never relent in pursuing them until they are brought to Justice. However, long it takes and whatever it costs, we shall prevail,” says Chakwera in a statement. Bonongwe aged 43 is today being escorted to his final resting place at his home village in Nkhotakota.
