Africa-Press – Malawi. The opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Publicist Shadrec Namalomba has disowned Secretary General (SG) Grelzder Jeffrey’s National Governing Council (NGC) meeting.
On Wednesday, Jeffrey organised the party’s NGC meeting in the capital Lilongwe without DPP leadership whose outcomes included setting a date for an elective convention. The said NGC had only 30 delegates out of 77 required per DPP’s constitution.
Namalomba told Maravi Post in an interview that Jeffrey’s camp including Nicholas Dausi, Kondwani Nankhumwa, Mark Bottoman, Billy Malata, and Ken Msonda has been paid to disturb and destroy the party.
DPP publicist observes said Jeffrey’s camp is hiding behind ill-motive of planning to form another party. Namalomba however said all those who attended the NGC meeting were brainless and sell-outs who are being used by another party.
He therefore hinted that the NGC was supposed to be held with the blessing of the party president which did not happen. During Jeffrey’s NGC meeting, Cecilia Chazama was elected as the council leader for the convention which is slated for December 16, 2023.
