Ecobank Malawi has reaffirmed its commitment to contributing towards the national financial inclusion agenda and digital financial services uptake.

Ecobank Malawi Head of Payments and Cash Management Douglas Luka said this after the bank contributed K3 million towards launch of the Association of Digital Financial Services (ADFS).

“Our support for ADFS reflects Ecobank’s commitment to creating a better way to serve our customers through digital banking. We believe in building inclusive financial ecosystems that individuals and businesses alike,” he said.

He said the bank has been at the forefront of digital banking, offering a comprehensive suite of innovative platforms tailored to individuals, SMEs, and corporates.

“These include the Ecobank Mobile App, which enables secure mobile banking on the go; USSD (*326#) for convenient, device-agnostic access to essential banking services; Ecobank Online for desktop and web-based transactions; and Rapid Transfer, which allows for instant cross-border remittances.

The bank also provides OmniLite, a digital banking solution for SMEs, and OmniPlus for larger corporates seeking advanced transaction capabilities,” Luka said.

ADFS executive member Bram Fudzulani hailed the bank for the partnership rating it as ideal for enhanced digital financial services use. ADFS, a multi-stakeholder platform, has been established to promote growth, regulation and coordination of digital financial services in Malawi.
