Africa-Press – Malawi. Female moderator of Blantyre Synod Reverend Edna Navaya was on Saturday March 26,2022 installed the first Chancellor of the University of Blantyre Synod.
She was installed at an event that took place at St.Michael’s and All Angels Multipurpose Hall in Blantyre where also eighteen students from the University were awarded degrees in Master’s of Arts in Theology for the first time since opened its doors in 2017.
The installation was done by the University’s council chair Address Malata and his Vice Nancy Chitera in the presence of President Lazarus Chakwera. Navaya pledged to work hard on her position for the the betterment of the institution and the nation as whole.
” I am very gratitude to be the first Chancellor of the University. For this, I promise to work hard for the betterment of the institution and the nation as whole,” said Navaya.
Soon after being installed, she then presided over the awarding of the Degrees in Master’s of Arts and Theology to eighteen students of which two were from South Sudan.
Before installed the University’s Chancellor, Navaya was serving as the first female Moderator of the Blantyre Synod. Blantyre Synod of the CCAP is the third to establish its University following Livingstonia in the North and Nkhoma in the Central Region.
