Empty State House Quarterly brief: Malawians want fuel, forex, fertilizer

Africa-Press – Malawi. Very empty! President Lazarus Chakwera’s son-in-law Sean Kampondeni who is Malawi Statehouse Director of Communications on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 during quarterly brief had to spend hours explaining Chakwera’s dairies which Malawians are not interested in.

Kampondeni without shame listed obvious duties Chakwera undertook for the past two months including swearing in of new Supreme Court Judges, receiving letters of credence from Zambian High Commissioner to Malawi, launching of the rehabilitation of the M1 from Lilongwe to Rumphi, the launch of National Youth Policy in Neno District, attending the UNGA in United States of America where he also attended over 40 meetings, opening the Phalombe Hospital, opening of National Data Centre in Blantyre among other duties.

Eventually, Kampondeni informed journalists Chakwera today was hosting a Cabinet meeting at Kamuzu Palace. Kampondeni said one of the objectives of Cabinet meeting is to devise solutions to socioeconomic challenges facing the country.

This comes as Malawians are grappling with high cost of living, forex shortage, fuel and among others. Despite social economic challenges Malawians are facing, Chakwera keeps on petty local and international trips blowing off hard-earned taxes. Chakwera’s Tonse Alliance administration is unable to get a formula to fix ailing for over two years now.
