Africa-Press – Malawi. The Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM) has embarked on an exercise to collect and update its customers on information which is in line with its network infrastructure.

According to the state-owned power transmission and distribution company, the exercise will help improve the tracking its customers for smooth service delivery and monitoring of its assets such as transformers and others.

In a statement, the corporation says, the first phase of the exercise already started in Blantyre in October, 2021 and it will run up to August, 2022.

“We have since deployed some of our members of staff to collect such as names, metre numbers, and locations during the exercise. These members of staff can be identified easily as they have ESCOM identity cards and back-up introductory letters,” reads the statement.

Meanwhile, the corporation has requested the members of the public to cooperate with its workers by giving them access to the information they may ask during the exercise.
