Africa-Press – Malawi. The country’s peoples commercial entity FDH bank plc on Monday, February 28, 2022 donated textbooks and MK2 million cash to Dedza Secondary School. The donation is part of the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) towards promoting quality education in the country.
FDH Bank Plc deputy Managing Director George Chitera who is also former BOX 48 student, encouraged learners with inspirational story how he attained his dreams as accomplish accountant.
Chitera says the donation is meant to empower students with knowledge that they continue to produce best results during national examinations including Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) and Junior Certificate Education (JCE).
He therefore expected learners to make use of the textbooks. Dedza Secondary School Headteacher Joseph Chiwoza lauded the bank for the timely donation saying will complement government efforts of promoting quality education.
Chiwoza said that donated textbooks will be distributed to each student to complete current education ministry policy that every learner must have textbooks for each subject.
The headteacher therefore urged learners to make proper usage of the donated items for its intended purpose. He however urged other well-wishers to help the school with beds, desks and computers saying are some challenges the institution is facing towards high quality of education. Dedza Secondary School is currently hosting about 640 learners.
