Africa-PressMalawi. FDH Bank plans to help students in choosing their career paths at an early stage through its newly launched ‘Mentor a Child’ project. Through the initiative, the bank targets secondary school students.

Speaking at Chichiri Secondary School as the bank launched the initiative, FDH Group Chief Executive Officer William Mpinganjira said the project would help students remain focused and set clear goals for their future.

“Instead of doing our usual donations and simply going away, we want our staff to be involved in communities they live in. This programme is basically about mentoring students as they grow that they can aspire to be successful,” he said.

Chichiri Secondary School Head teacher Allen Mjima hailed the bank for the initiative. He said the career talks are necessary for students across the country to understand life after secondary education. Advertisement
