Africa-Press – Malawi. One of the good Governance advocate and human rights activist Undule Mwakasungula has observed that the recognition of Malawi as one of the top 10 best-governed countries in Africa by the World Economics Governance Index is reflecting various aspects of governance and public administration that are crucial for the country’s sustainable development.
In a press release issued on Saturday Undule Mwakasungula said that this recognition shows a commitment from the leadership and a positive sign for the country’s future development.
“The recognition is noting the progress that is being made so far by the country’s leadership in creating a more transparent, accountable, and efficient government Mwakasungula said”.
Therefore
Mwakasungula said that this ranking is a strong indicator of Malawi’s strides in governance for a country like Malawi, being placed seventh with an index score of 52.9 is a testament to its efforts in implementing policies and frameworks that enhance effective governance.
However Mwakasungula said that it indicates progress in building a stable and accountable government infrastructure that would attract more investments, encourage development, and ensure the equitable distribution of resources.
However Mwakasungula argued that with no malice the leadership in Malawi by President Lazarus Chakwera has really shown commitment to improving governance, the economy and addressing issues that have historically undermined development.
