Africa-Press – Malawi. Joyce Banda Foundation international (JBF) has partnered with TNM PLC to economically empower women and other vulnerable groups. The partnership comes following an agreement which the two sides have signed under Mudziwathu Initiative which aims at promoting economic growth, poverty alleviation and job creation through application of mobile telecom technology as catalyst for community development.
Speaking after signing the agreement, Joyce Banda Foundation International founder who is also former Malawi President, Joyce Banda said the partnership will see the continuation of efforts by TNM PLC in implementation of positive collaboration for sustained individual and community development.
“We have rural network that is strong for me I have always believed that when I work, I should target women at grassroots level.
“People from rural areas are intelligent, they know what exactly what to do , they just need support from others just like TNM and Joyce Banda Foundation International”, Banda said.
Meanwhile, TNM Chief Executive Officer, Arnold M’bwana, has touted Mudziwathu which he says will help to co- create and co- innovate solutions with various partners to transform lives of Malawians.
He said the two parties know challenges that most Malawians meet which will certainly be solved through the agreement. M’bwana further said among others, TNM will increase availability of informed and liquid Mpamba Agents across the country.
