Locally made electric motorcycles impresses Chakwera

Africa-Press – Malawi. President Lazarus Chakwera has been impressed with locally made electric motorcycles . This follows Chakwera hosting a group of young Malawian engineers at Kamuzu Palace in the capital Lilongwe on Wednesday March 23, 2022.

Malawian leader invited the grouping to appreciate and see for himself samples of locally made electric motorcycles that the engineers are building in the country with the support from American Investors.

Chakwera was impressed with the invention Malawian engineers by coming up with an electric motorcycles with zero carbon emissions. Chakwera said; “This kind of reconstruction of key innovations aligns with our goals of fully adopting climate-smart technologies in building a greener and sustainable economy,”.

He then expressed his gratitude to the engineers for their efforts saying they are contributing positively to Malawi’s transition from predominantly importing to an exporting economy.

“I am delighted that Malawi is on the right trajectory to realizing our our dreams as a nation in line with the Malawi Vision 2063 agenda of of a self-reliant, industrialized and middle-income nation.

“My administration will continue to create a business-friendly environment for investors in all sectors,” said Chakwera.

He disclosed that he has asked the company Sanguo Ventures which is supporting the engineers to develop a strategy for scaling up production which will create more jobs and wealth in the country.
