Africa-Press – Malawi. Reverend Petros Chikayiko Mwale, a Parish Priest at St. Cecilia Catholic Parish in Mpherembe under Mzuzu Diocese has joined Malawians in publicly condemning President Lazarus Chakwera leadership style.
The development comes barely a day after motorists in the capital Lilongwe over the weekend booed President Chakwera’s convoy which was heading to Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) for Egypt COP27 trip.
“Such smiles by the President only irritates and provokes many in the suffering,” wrote Reverend Mwale.
The statement from the Catholic Priest has attracted mixed reactions with many applauding the Priest for clearing his throat. President Chakwera’s Tonse Alliance government is yet to comment on the matter. Chakwera is failing to fix Malawi’s ailing economy two years in power.
