Africa-Press – Malawi. Football Association of Malawi (FAM) is ready to roll out the 2022 FDH Bank MK90 million cup. This has been said by Competitions and communication director of the body Gomezgani Zakazaka on Tuesday, May 24,2022 after re- done the regional draw for the central region which had hiccups on Monday when the regional draws took place.

CRFA sent wrong log table of group C of Chipiku Premier division which indicated Silver Strikers Reserve as leaders hence were seeded. This prompted the Association to redo the draw.

“All is set for us to roll out the 2022 FDH Bank cup in preliminary round of the 58 regional teams,we conducted draw on Monday, May 23, 2022 for the three regions but that for Central region had irregularities hence re-draw”, Zakazaka said.

The first round of the regional teams will take off next week with the second round slated for second week of June Five teams from each region will qualify to the national level where they will be paired with the 16 Superleague teams.

In 2021 Dedza Young Soccer booted out TNM Superleague outfit Blue Eagles FC at their own home Nankhaka Stadium in the round of 32 while Simbi FC from Mchinji lost through post match penalties against Red Lions.

Silver Strikers FC are the defending champions after defeating Ekwendeni Hammers in the finals at the Bingu National Stadium. The grant prize for the Champions is MK25 million.
