Africa-Press – Malawi. William Shakespeare in his book titled Macbeth wrote, “We are living in this world where to do harm is more laudable than to do good”. It is true that our world has grown so wicked that treachery and dishonesty is more praised than integrity.
It is worrisome that we have sold our values to the dogs. Nowadays, a man is valued based on what wealth he has accumulated and not on his integrity and honesty. Have you wondered why it is mostly bad guys , those naughty bullies, that get pretty girls in the hood? It is the same with politics. The wicked are legitimately voted into power to plunder government resources.
We pretend to polish ourselves as ardent believers of God but we literally denied his power. Have you not realised that most offences including thievery and corruption are perpetrated by believers? Pay a courtesy visit to prisons and you will agree with me that most prisoners claim to be God fearing people. Creed is taken as a shield to do evil.
Are you bamboozled why Pastor Lazarus Chakwera abandoned his ministry only to deceive Malawians with empty promises? Pastor Lazarus Chakwera has been the President of the Assemblies of God for over two decades. He has interacted with the most poverty stricken people in the country. He knows the sufferings of poor Malawians.
When Pastor Chakwera promised that he would do everything possible to uplift the plight of people, Malawians believed him, as a man of God, purely based on trust. They were wrong because Pastor Chakwera has proved to be a seasoned hypocrite. He has even failed to deliver his Hi 5 Malawi Congress Party (MCP) slogan promises.
Recently Chakwera’s vice president, Dr. Saulos Chilima was implicated in the Sattar’s corruption scandal. He is a devout catholic. Ms. Martha Chizuma, who claims to be an ardent believer, practises selective justice too. ACB can quickly arrest suspects from the opposition Democratic Progressive Party such as Hon. Nicholas Dausi, while leaving Dr.Chilima and Hon. Eisenhower Mkaka scot free and uninterrogated despite being implicated in corrupt dealings. Tonse Alliance administration is full of pretenders who are hiding under the veil of creed.
Did you know that all former presidents of Malawi, who had their share of corruption, were theists. For instance, Dr. Kamuzu Banda, who brutally killed his political opponents, was the Church elder of the Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP). Like President Chakwera and his vice, most people hide behind God’s name to mastermind diabolical acts. Trust them at your own risk.
It is only under the tutelage of Reverend Chakwera when corruption, abuse of office, embezzlement and nepotism have reached unprecedented levels in Malawi. Sattar has captured all public sectors including the Executive arm of government, the Judiciary, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Immigration department, Malawi Police Service, Malawi Defence Force, Journalists and many more.
While Tonse Alliance is enjoying the delicacies of power, life of the plebian is becoming difficult at the passing of each day. Cost of living is high amid high inflation rates. It is conclusively true that when the righteous increase, people rejoice but when the wicked rule, people groan. Malawians are groaning in abject poverty right now.
Malawians are tired of Tonse Alliance’s rhetoric and lip service. We therefore appeal to President Chakwera to put the welfare of local Malawians at heart now.
