Africa-Press – Malawi. A 45-year old man Luka Pitolosi from Thangalanjobvu Village Traditional Authority (T.A) Mtonda in Mangochi, is in the hands of Mangochi Police as he is being suspected to have stabbed to death his ex-wife Veronica Jalani, over jealous.
Mangochi Police Station Public Relations Officer Amina Tepani Daudi has confirmed of the tragedy that occurred on January 26, 2022 in Traditional Authority Mtonda in Mangochi. The two divorced 2 years ago for reasons best known to themselves a decision which did not go well with the suspect according to Police findings.
“On the said date, the ex-wife met the suspect on her way from the nearby village where she was sent by her village Headman to collect forms of Village civil protect Committee and the suspect stopped her before producing a knife from his pocket and stabbed her several times on the chest,” Daudi said.
The incident was witnessed by a brother to the deceased who was coming from the opposite direction and Veronica was rushed to Chilipa Health Center where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
She died due to loss of blood which was oozing between the chest wall and lungs which was caused by the deep cut wound as confirmed by Chilipa Health Center where the deceased was rushed. Pitolosi will appear before court to answer the charge of murder.
