Malawi’s prolific striker Peter Wadabwa quits active football

Africa-Press – Malawi. Malawi’s Prolific Striker Peter Wadabwa has called it a day in active football after being in the industry for almost seventeen years. The veteran striker announced the development in an interview with the press on Wednesday, February 9, 2022.

“It’s time to call it quit. I have done my part in football and its time to give space to others do their part as well”, said Wadabwa.

He has retired while playing for the Lali Lubani outfits Mighty Wanderers. Prior to that, he played for Silver Strikers and Escom United. In 2019, he signed a one-year contract with Desportivo de Maputo in Mozambique

The Forward striker, in 2020 returned to Be Forward Wanderers after parting ways with Mozambican side Desportivo de Maputo. A return which coincided with the departure of the striker, Babatunde Adepoju, who joined Silver Strikers at a MK8 million transfer fee. Wadabwa has also played for the Malawi National football team “THE FLAMES”, ESCOM United,Golden Arrows, and Thanda Royal Zulu in South Africa
