Africa-Press – Malawi. National Football Coaches Association (NFCA) has officially welcomed Mighty Mukuru Wanderers expatriate coach Mark Harrison into its fold. Harrison, a Briton, is the third foreign coach to become an NFCA member after Nyasa Big Bullets mentor Kallisto Pasuwa of Zimbabwe and former Silver Strikers’ Zambian trainer Dan Kabwe.

NFCA chairperson Aubrey Nankhuni welcomed Harrison at Wanderers Club House in Blantyre Thursday. Nankhuni said they believe Harrison will contribute to the development of the game in the country.

“Local coaches should take the opportunity to tap from his expertise. This coach has vast experience after working in various countries. Local coaches can learn a lot from him.

“By becoming our member, Harrison will also be free to work comfortably in the country and get our support whenever he faces challenges,” he said.

Nankhuni, who was accompanied by Football Association of Malawi (Fam) Technical Director Benjamin Kumwenda and Southern Region Football Coaches Chairperson Abel Mkandawire, added that they are keen to involve Harrison in their imminent coaching clinics across the country.

On his part, Harrison said he was happy with the welcome. “I have worked in a number of countries in Africa but this is the first time I have been welcomed by a coaches’ body. Let us work together to improve the game of football,” he said. Since becoming Wanderers’ coach a few months ago, Harrison has helped the Lali Lubani Road outfit win the 2022 Airtel Top 8 Cup.
