Africa-Press – Malawi. President Lazarus Chakwera has appointed Heatherwick Njati as the new Secretary to the Treasury.
Sources within the Ministry of Finance indicate that Njati assumed the role last week but was earlier serving in the same ministry as Principal Secretary for Administration.
Minister of Finance Simplex Chithyola Banda confirmed the appointment, stating that “[Mr.] Njati was selected by [HE] President Lazarus Chakwera” to assume the role that oversees the country’s treasury operations.
