Africa-Press – Malawi. In what would have been a perfect payback time to an acrimonious exit from Orlando Pirates, Gabadinho Mhango did not have depth to sink the ship of the sea robbers, the Pirates of Orlando.
The Flames striker was jettisoned from the Buccaneer’s ship and, as usual, revenge was on the mind of Malawi’s lethal forward and of Malawians back home, who feel their star player was hard done by.
Gabadinho’s side lost 1-0 to Orlando Pirates in the final of the Wafa Wafa MTN final on Saturday in a heavily contested match. The former endured a bad day in office, according to www.news24.com.
“But within the first minute, former Buccaneer Gabadinho Mhango, now donning AmaZulu’s green, brought down defender Nkosinathi Sibisi.
“The 27-year-old pulled his calf muscle after Mhango’s high boot. He was replaced by Paseka Mako,” the report stated.
Gabadinho could not be reached for a comment but former Flames midfielder Sherry Msuku said it was not automatic that the Malawian was going to score.
“When you face your former side, it is always going to be a difficult match as both parties up their game to prove a point. The mission should be focussing on the match,” he said.
