Africa-Press – Malawi. Malawi’s Flames and Simba Sports Club Midfielder Peter Banda is anticipated to play against his former club for the first time in CAF Champions League preliminary round following the 2022/2023 draw conducted by CAF on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 in Cairo, Egypt.
Nyasa Big Bullets FC have been paired against Tanzanian outfit Simba SC where Banda is currently playing his professional football. The first round games will be played on the weekend of 9-11 September and return leg expected on 16-18 same month.
As per draw the winner between Nyasa Big Bullets FC and Simba SC will battle it out with Red Arrows from Zambia or Premiro Agosto from Angola in the second round of the qualifiers in the weekend of 7-9 October with return leg expected on 14-16 October, 2022.
Nyasa Big Bullets FC last advanced into the next stage of the prestigious continental Showpiece in 2004,as they reached quarterfinals since then they have failed to go beyond the preliminary rounds. In 2021 campaign they were knocked out by Amazulu FC (USUNTHU) 3-2 on aggregate after winning 0-1 away in KwaZulu Natal in the first leg.
