Super League of Malawi (Sulom) President Gilbert Mittawa has issued a stern warning stopping teams from making frequent requests seeking postponements as the tendency contributes to league delays.
Mittawa, speaking at Sulom’s Annual General Meeting in Salima on Saturday, said the tendency disturbs league calendar which prolongs the season.
“We will be a little hard on teams that have a tendency of calling Sulom to change their games by moving them to later dates. I want to be clear and we will not be soft this season. We want to make sure that we stick to the calendar without fail,” Mittawa said.
Meanwhile, football analyst Parry Chinyama hailed Sulom for the remarks saying this was the only way to ensure that the football calendar is adhered to.
