Africa-Press – Malawi. We are excited to share the current status of the New Dedza One-Stop Border Post! This state-of-the-art infrastructure brings together all the departments stationed at the border under one roof, ensuring effective service delivery.

Situated approximately 100KM south of Malawi’s Capital, Lilongwe, the Dedza border shares its north-eastern boundary with Mozambique’s Calomue Border Post in the Tete Province.

While awaiting its official opening, the border post is already serving cross-border traders and migrants with the help of various government departments, including the Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA), Immigration, Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS), and Ministry of Agriculture. These departments are in the process of equipping the facility with more resources, both in terms of equipment and human resources.

Once fully furnished and staffed, the new Dedza One-Stop Border Post will be officially commissioned, to fully serve its purpose of facilitating trade across the region.

The construction of this modern border post highlights the commitment of the Chakwera-led administration to sustainable infrastructure development and enhancement of trade, in alignment with Malawi Vision 2063.

With its improved infrastructure, the border post will significantly reduce clearance timeframes, allowing cross-border traders and travellers to save valuable time.
