Africa-Press – Mali. A few days before the start of the holy month of Ramadan, the Malian President, Colonel Assimi GOÏTA, offered provisions to 100 vulnerable families in the City of 333 Saints.

In total, 100 bags of 50 kg of millet, 100 bags of 50 kg of rice, 100 boxes of pasta, 100 cans of 20 liters of oil and 100 bags of 50 kg of sugar were given to the beneficiaries, particularly widows, the elderly and those with disabilities.

The presentation of the donation was the subject of a ceremony in Timbuktu, chaired by the Special Advisor in charge of social works of the President of the Transition, Mr. Aguibou DEMBELE. He was accompanied by a high-level delegation including the Minister Commissioner for Food Security, Redouwane Ag Mohamed ALI.

This initiative from the President of the Republic of Mali is a message addressed to all his compatriots: to increase donations in favor of the most deprived to enable them to properly observe the Ramadan period.

The administrative authorities, traditional and religious leaders of Timbuktu expressed their gratitude to President GOÏTA for his commitment and his sense of sharing.
