The MCB Foundation Scholarship Award 2021 was presented, yesterday, in Port-Louis, by the Vice-Prime Minister, Minister of Education, Tertiary Education, Science and Technology, Mrs Leela Devi Dookun-Luchoomun, to Ms Loubna Sadaful. The latter, a former student of the Queen Elizabeth College, will soon start a four-year integrated Masters in Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics, and Economics at the University of Warwick, in the United Kingdom.
In her address, Mrs Dookun-Luchoomun stated that the Mauritius Commercial Bank (MCB) Foundation Scholarship is a perfect example of the excellent, sustained and regular collaboration that exists between the public and private sectors in the field of education. This collaboration is extremely important as it enables Mauritius to achieve its long-term vision of having more professionals trained in prestigious institutions so as to provide the country with the manpower and human resource to ensure the advancement of our country, she pointed out. She lauded the MCB for this prestigious scholarship and recalled that it covers air tickets, school materials, transport, as well as tuition and accommodation fees.
