Maha Shivaratree 2023: Special deployment plan for traffic to access to Ganga Talao

Africa-Press – Mauritius. With a view to ensuring traffic security and the safety of pilgrims including the general public, the Mauritius Police Force (MPF) has put up a special deployment plan to the ease flow of traffic towards Ganga Talao.

Vehicular traffic approaching Grand Bassin will do so via La Marie, Mare aux Vacoas, Gower and Petrin while vehicular traffic from the direction of Savanne Road and proceeding either towards Bois Cheri or La Flora Shivala will be diverted along Co-operative Road.

One way traffic implemented as from today 13 February 2023 till 18 February 2023, up to 13 00 hours, is as follows: La Brasserie Road from its junction at Camp le Juge to its junction with La Marie Road;

the stretch of the road from La Brasserie/La Marie junction to Avalon parking; La Flora/Grand Bois Road from its junction with Co-operative Road to that with Savanne Road.

Vehicles leaving Ganga Talao from: Durga Maa parking should go through Link Road towards Le Gouly and Bois Cheri roads; and Petrin Car Park should use Le Baric Road to proceed towards Chamouny/ Chemin Grenier or Gower through Link Road towards Le Gouly and Bois Cheri roads. A dedicated team of the MPF is assisting in the implementation of the traffic plan.
