In the context of a series of activities marking World Environment Day 2023, the Minister of Environment, Solid Waste Management and Climate Change, Mr Kavydass Ramano, launched, yesterday, in Ebène, a sustainable project involving the embellishment and greening of bare lands located under the high voltage cables.
The project is in line with Government’s vision for a cleaner and greener Mauritius by preserving the environment and embellishing the landscape. Plants including fruit trees will be planted to promote a sustainable, healthy and harmonious environment for the inhabitants.
World Environment Day 2023 World Environment Day, observed annually on 5 June, is a call for environmental public outreach. The focus for 2023 is a global effort to beat plastic pollution. This year marks the 50th anniversary of World Environment Day, after it was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 1972.
