Africa-Press – Mauritius. The Acting World Health Organization (WHO) Representative in Mauritius, Dr Indrajit Hazarika, paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Land Transport and Light Rail, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade, Mr Alan Ganoo, this afternoon, in Port Louis.
Following the meeting, Dr Hazarika stated that the WHO and the Government of Mauritius have had a very long relationship in terms of collaboration within the health and other related sectors.
Discussions, he added, focused on further strengthening the WHO’s support to Mauritius so that the country can recover well out of the current COVID-19 pandemic and enhance its health system so as to address the needs and aspirations of its people.
