AFROSAI-E Workshop focuses on Financial and Compliance Audit Manuals

Africa-Press – Mauritius. A two-week workshop on ‘Financial and Compliance Audit Manuals’, opened this morning at the Caudan Arts Centre, in Port-Louis. The event is an initiative of the African Organisation of English-speaking Supreme Audit Institutions (AFROSAI-E) regrouping representatives of African countries and Mauritian Officials.

The aim is to catalyse the implementation of the AFROSAI-E Regularity Audit manuals and make recommendations on how to align the methodologies to the Supreme Audit Institution (SAI) Mauritius’ mandate.

Present on the occasion, the Director of Audit, National Audit Office and, Auditor General of SAI Mauritius, Dr Dharamraj Paligadu, expressed gratitude to AFROSAI-E for organising the workshop in Mauritius.

For him, the workshop will provide an important platform for members of the SAIs to share their experience and expertise and come up with innovative solutions to challenges faced by auditors.

AFROSAI-E, he underlined, is committed to cooperating and supporting its members to strengthen their institutional capacity and help them successfully fulfill their audit mandates, thus making a difference in the lives of citizens.

The world is constantly changing in the audit environment and it is imperative for audit professionals to adapt and keep up-to-date in ensuring the provision of high-quality services and efficiently brave new challenges, he remarked.

Dr Paligadu expressed hope that the workshop will significantly contribute to the professional development of all participants and strengthen their respective institutions.

AFROSAI-E is the English-speaking subgroup of AFROSAI, the African branch of the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions. AFROSAI-E plays a facilitating role in the region by sharing information with its members and supporting them towards better execution of their mandates.
