Ambassador of Finland to Mauritius presents credentials to President Roopun

Africa-Press – Mauritius. The Ambassador of Finland to South Africa and non-resident Ambassador of Finland to Botswana, Lesotho, and Mauritius, Mrs Anne Lammila, presented her credentials to the President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr Prithvirajsing Roopun, today, at the State House, in Réduit.

In a statement after the meeting, Ambassador Lammila highlighted that discussions with the President were warm and cordial. She underlined the need to further intensify bilateral cooperation between Mauritius and Finland and recalled that the two countries share excellent relations which however need to be improved.

Furthermore, she stated that discussions with the President focused on concrete topics such as the blue economy, renewable energy, technical cooperation, and achieving self-sufficiency in agriculture. She also underlined that Finland’s expertise in the education sector was touched upon and how it would benefit Mauritius.

Ambassador Lammila was previously Consul General of Finland to Saint Petersburg; Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues and Gender Equality in Finland; Ambassador of Finland to Mexico, Cuba, Haiti and Central America; and Deputy Chief of Mission, Minister, Embassy of Finland, Washington DC.
