Africa-Press – Mauritius. The Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Mauritius, Ms Abir Mohamed Ismail Alam Eldin, paid a courtesy call, today in Port Louis, on the Attorney General and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade, Mr Maneesh Gobin.
In a statement, the Ambassador indicated that discussions with the Minister revolved around areas of cooperation between Egypt and Mauritius, namely, culture, fisheries, trade cooperation, importation of fruits and vegetables from Cairo, and the exportation of textiles.
On this note, she expressed hope that several projects between the two countries are materialised in the coming weeks. About the Ambassador Ms Abir Mohamed Ismail Alam Eldin has served as Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister for Cultural Agreements and Protocols from 2018 to 2023.
She was also the Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister for European Union Affairs from 2017 to 2018, and Director of Western Europe Affairs from 2016 to 2017.
From 2011 to 2013, she occupied the post of Director of the Office of Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs and was the alternate delegate at the Permanent Mission of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the League of Arab States from 2007 to 2010.
