Africa-Press – Mauritius. The Ambassador of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Mr David Hamadziripi, paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister, Mr Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, this afternoon, at the New Treasury Building in Port Louis.

In a statement, Ambassador Hamadziripi said that discussions with the Prime Minister was very productive and focused mainly on the need to promote trade and enhance economic relations between Mauritius and Zimbabwe.

The issue of food security was also evoked, he added. The Ambassador expressed appreciation to the Government of Mauritius for its continuous support to the development of Zimbabwe’s human capital through the provisions of scholarship to students.

The Ambassador also spoke on the political solidarity that exists between the two countries as part of the SADC Parliamentary Forum. He reaffirmed Zimbabwe’s unflinching support to Mauritius in its fight for the decolonisation process and sovereignty of the Chagos Archipelago.
