Proud of its career and its contribution to the development of the country, the institution wanted to mark this anniversary with a milestone, which symbolizes its success in the region.
Employees, customers and partners were invited to attend a show and to discover a photo exhibition retracing the key moments that marked this period. This event took place on Friday, November 15 at the Swami Vivekananda International Convention Center (SVICC), in Pailles.

We wanted to have our customers and partners by our side to thank them for their support. They played, all at their own level and in their own way, an important role in our success in Mauritius.
It was a way for us to celebrate a century of sharing, hard work and progress that has benefited all of our customers and the country as a whole. This anniversary is all the more special as it is being celebrated as we are in a period of transition to the Absa group “, explains Ravin Dajee, Managing Director of the banking institution.
Drawing on its know-how and knowledge of the Mauritian market, Barclays has built a solid and indelible heritage, and gained the trust of its customers and partners.
This heritage allows Barclays to confidently commit to the name change which will take place in 2020. Indeed, Barclays will change its identity by integrating the Absa group, which is one of the main players in financial services on the continent.
African, present in 12 African countries, including South Africa, Tanzania and Kenya, among others. Beyond the change of identity, this rebranding will open up new opportunities for customers.
